hot mulled apple-cranberry cider
Serves 10
A more traditional twist on the holiday classic hot mulled cider, but with less sugar. A warm, comforting choice anytime.
Ingredients
- 1 quart apple cider
- 1 cup cranberry juice*
- 3 whole cloves
- 2 whole star anise
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons Equal® Spoonful OR 3 packets Equal® sweetener
Preparation
- Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan.
- Bring to boiling. Remove from heat.
- Cover and let stand 8 to 10 minutes.
- Strain cider into pitcher or punch bowl.
- Garnish with cranberries or apples if desired. Serve warm.
- To lower calories and carbohydrates, substitute light or diet cranberry juice for the regular.
