Tibetan Tea
Serves 4
Tea brewed with spices, then sweetened with Equal® sweetener and combined with warm milk for a unique way to end a meal or add a “lift” any time of the day.
Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 4 to 6 whole cloves
- 3 tea bags (OR 2 tablespoons) Earl Gray tea
- 2 cups 2% milk
- 6 packets Equal sweetener*
- Freshly grated nutmeg, optional
*Substitute 1/4 cup Equal Spoonful for the packets.
Preparation
- Combine water and spices in a medium saucepan. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, covered, 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat. Add tea bags. Let steep 5 minutes. Remove tea bags; strain tea.
- Return tea to saucepan. Add milk. Heat through, but do not boil. Stir in Equal until dissolved.
- Serve sprinkled with grated nutmeg, if desired.
